Community

School Bridge League is growing youth Bridge by bringing together the School community and the Bridge community.  We are bringing together the classroom teachers, school Bridge teams, local Bridge teachers, clubs, players, volunteers, and playing opportunities to help support each other and promote the game of Bridge.

Classroom Teachers

School Bridge League has developed tools for the classroom teacher, including a curriculum, coded to state educational standards, that allows the teacher to introduce the game of bridge in their classroom.  Teachers who register with School Bridge League have access to resources, tournaments, volunteers and support to bring the game of Bridge to their school.

Teams

Each School Bridge League Team may participate in SBL Tournaments and can also create their own Team Page to promote and celebrate their team’s accomplishments.

Local Bridge Teachers

Many classroom teachers know that the game of Bridge can help their students succeed, but don’t know where to start.  Classroom teachers need local Bridge teachers to teach them how to teach their students.  The SBL Community can link up those that know with those that want to learn through our “Building Bridges In the Community”.

Bridge Clubs

Local Bridge clubs are also part of the School Bridge League community.  Local Bridge clubs may register their junior or youth Bridge games for SBL students.  Local Bridge clubs can also designate SBL teams for their charity games.

Local Players and Volunteers

Classroom teachers can introduce the game of Bridge in their classroom, but they need continuing support beyond the classroom.  Volunteers can register with School Bridge League to be a classroom support resource or help Coach school Bridge teams.

Playing Opportunities

Not only does SBL encourage students to learn the game of Bridge, SBL encourages students to use the game of Bridge to strengthen their community.  Teaching Bridge to students afterschool programs or playing Bridge when visiting senior centers are just two of the ways SBL students can use the game of Bridge in their community service.
